Joy of Sacks Pattern

The Joy of Sacks tote bag pattern has 2 sizes - perfect for that Mother/Daughter combination! The instructions are clear and they are loaded with lots of pockets to organize your goodies.

Finished size is: LARGE TOTE - 18" x 14 1/2 x 5" SMALL TOTE - 13" x 9" x 3"

Materials Needed: Small tote bag requirements are noted in parentheses.

5/8 yd (2/3 yd) Main fabric for tote (I used Moda Java Tossed Cups - Red)
1 yd (1/2 yd) Contrast fabric for upper and bottom bands and handles (I used Moda Java Lots A Dots - Black)
5/8 yd (1/2 yd) Lining fabric (I used Moda Java Bunch of Beans - Black)
3/4 yd (3/8 yd) Accent fabric for outer and inner pockets (I used Moda Java Dots De Jour - Red for inner and Moda Java Coffee Type - Cream for outer pockets) You will need an 8x10 or (6x6) inch square for the outer pocket if you choose to have different inner and outer pocket colors.
1 yd (1/2 yd) Heavyweight Pellon @ 22" wide
1 - 5" x 12 1/2" (3" x 9 1/2") 7 mesh Plastic Canvas
1 - 25" x 54" (18" x 36") batting
1 - 6 1/2" (4 1/2") of 1/4" elastic
1 - snap, size 10 or 21 mm (I used a magnetic snap)
